Our Sports Advocacy Group meeting recently brought together legislators, governing bodies and professional athletes to discuss the topic of values in sport. Stephanie Brantz interviewed Test cricketer Nathan Hauritz about his own values on the field of play and we posed difficult questions about sporting values to the audience.

The answers Nathan gave and the debate between the audience members highlighted some of the challenges associated with promoting the right sets of values in sport, but we're interested to hear what you think. Have your say here.

Perhaps there are challenges in promoting values in sport at an elite level but in grassroots like your local soccer team it cannot be that hard.  The coach needs to encourage adhering to the rules, encourage team envolvement, fair play and encourage team members to support each other. By doing this the values are learnt and hopefully transferred to other aspects of individuals lives.
